Gujarat Government Plans to Complete World’s Largest 30,000 MW Solar and Wind Park by 2026

Gujarat, India – The Gujarat government has recently announced plans to complete the construction of the world’s largest solar and wind park by 2026. The park, which will have a capacity of 30,000 megawatts (MW), will be located in the Kutch district of Gujarat.

The project is expected to attract an investment of around Rs. 1.5 lakh crore ($20.4 billion USD), and is set to become the largest renewable energy project in the world. The park will be developed in two phases, with the first phase set to be completed by December 2022 and the second by December 2026.

According to the government, the park will be a major contributor towards India’s goal of achieving 450 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030. It is expected to generate employment opportunities for around 20,000 people during the construction phase, and around 10,000 people during the operation and maintenance phase.

The park is expected to help Gujarat become a leading state in the country’s renewable energy sector. The state already has a strong foothold in the sector, with a total installed capacity of around 13,000 MW of renewable energy.

This ambitious project is expected to provide a significant boost to India’s efforts to transition towards a sustainable and greener economy, while also providing a major source of clean energy for the country.
