The proposal to build 21 additional industrial estates throughout the state of Gujarat’s 13 districts has received permission from the cabinet.
Notably, the Gujarat administration told the Legislative Assembly in March that it intended to build new industrial estates in the region so that residents may find work close to where they were born.
According to a press release, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel approved in principle the creation of a pre-feasibility assessment report as well as the plan to establish 21 new industrial parks during the cabinet meeting on Wednesday in Gandhinagar.
According to the statement, the pre-feasibility study would address a number of topics, including the availability of land for establishing estates, supply and demand variables, and agricultural productivity in particular locations.
These 21 new estates, to be managed by the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC), will be established in Rajkot, Mehsana, Mahisagar, Bharuch, Banaskantha, Patan, Chhotaudepur, GirSomnath, Gandhinagar, Kheda, Amreli, Anand and Junagadh districts.
