At its new facility in Gujarat, Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Ltd. will begin producing hydrazine hydrate, a liquid industrial substance, a company executive announced on Saturday.
The majority of India’s 17,000 tonnes per year of hydrazine hydrate, which is mostly utilised as a starting product in the agricultural, pharmaceutical, automotive, and recreational industries, is imported. According to Swaroop P., managing director of the company, the GACL facility “will be the first large-scale manufacture of hydrazine hydrate and will reduce the nation’s import of the chemical by 60%.”
The new facility cost $49 million and will generate 10,000 tonnes of hydrazine hydrate yearly.
