The central government would offer incentives of Rs 120 crore over the following three years to drone makers and drone component manufacturers under the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme.
General (Retd) VK Singh, Minister of State for Civil Aviation, stated in a written response to a question during the current Rajya Sabha session that the government is providing a total incentive of Rs 120 crore over three financial years beginning in 2021–2022, and that the incentive for 2021–2022 will be paid in 2022–2023, following review of the financial results of the beneficiaries.
For the purpose of allocating the grant, the centre has created a preliminary list of 23 PLI grantees, comprising 12 drone manufacturers and 11 drone component makers.
