The master layout plan for Thane’s Kisan Nagar cluster redevelopment project, which spans 12 acres, was approved by a State government-appointed high power committee.
The Kisan Nagar cluster plan in Thane would be implemented in phases, according to Thane municipal commissioner Dr Vipin Sharma, who made the announcement.
Cidco has been named as the project’s executing agency, and the first phase will serve as a model for all other cluster proposals now in the works throughout the city.
“The committee of senior bureaucrats and experts has been set up for approval of all 35-plus cluster proposals spread over 1,500 hectares (3,700 acres) in the city. The committee has cleared the layout plan for the first phase which will be executed at the densely populated Kisan Nagar area in Wagle estate ward of Thane. A survey identifying and registering the beneficiaries for the first phase is also being undertaken,” said officials.
