Godrej and Boyce commissions 220kV substation in Karnataka’s Tumakuru

The 220/66/11kV power grid substations at Sira in the Tumakuru district of Karnataka have been commissioned by Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd’s Power Infrastructure and Renewable Energy (PIRE) business unit.

Godrej & Boyce substations will connect Sira and its surrounding towns to a state-level grid through 220kV and 66kV transmission lines, providing access to stable, high-quality electricity with a transformation capacity of 200 MVA.

The substation will not only offer the necessary impetus to stimulate the development of the industrial landscape in and around Sira, which was previously stalled owing to a lack of reliable power.
