Two green initiatives have been introduced by GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL), including an EV (Electric Vehicle) charging station in the main parking lot and a biodiesel filling station at the public transit hub (PTC).
Any EV user who wants to utilise the service can access the fast-charging station. It can charge a four-wheeler from empty to full in roughly an hour using its 30 KW of power. The charging station works with both Android and iOS mobile devices and is app driven.
A bio-diesel fueling station has also been added by GHIAL, a “first” in Indian airports. The only alternative diesel that may be used in any standard, unaltered diesel engine is bio-diesel. Biodiesel includes no sulphur and 11 per cent oxygen by weight
