The largest seller of lignite in the nation, Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation (GMDC), a prominent mining PSU, has revealed that it is considering forming a partnership with technical consultants for the dry beneficiation technology pyrite/sulfur removal plant.
For more than 60 years, the Government of Gujarat Enterprise GMDC has been a mining innovator, meeting the solid fuel and mineral demands of both Gujarat-based and non-Gujarat-based enterprises. The State’s Kutch, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Bhavnagar, Bharuch, Panchmahal, and Banaskantha districts all have GMDC mining operations. Lignite, bauxite, fluorite, manganese, ball clay, silica sand, bentonitic clay, and limestone are among the minerals it now deals in.
The GMDC has also set up a 250 MW lignite-based Thermal Power Station at Nani Chher in Kutch, a Wind power plant of 200.9 MW at Maliya, Jodiya, Godsar, Bhanvad and a Solar Power plant of 5 MW at Panandhro Project.
