GMDA commences work to increase capacity of ChanduBudhera water treatment plant

To meet the rising demand of the expanding population in new sectors, particularly sectors 81 to 115, GMDA has begun work to increase the capacity of the ChanduBudhera water treatment plant (WTP) by 100 MLD.

The project’s initial phase is anticipated to cost GMDA Rs 73 crore and be finished by June 2024.

The contractor has reportedly begun pre-construction work, and a consultant has been given the plant’s hydraulic design, according to GMDA officials.

“Keeping in mind the future needs of the city and residents, augmentation of water supply is being done by GMDA. Work on the construction of a 100 MLD-capacity unit number 4 is under way at ChanduBudhera and the hydraulic design has been submitted by the contractor. Residents will benefit once the project is completed by 2024,” said Vikas Malik, GMDA executive engineer.
