Gateway Distriparks announcespurchase of land at Dhanakya, near Jaipur

Gateway Distriparks Limited (GDL) reports that it has finished buying land at Dhanakya, close to Jaipur, and will immediately start building a new rail-connected Inland Container Depot (ICD). Along with five Container Freight Stations, this will be the company’s fifth ICD, bringing the total number of container terminals across all of India to ten.

GDL has already invested Rs. 27 crore on the purchase of the site and will spend a further Rs. 50 crore on the initial ICD development costs.

The ICD, which would be situated next to Dhanakya railway station, will span 30 acres, have two rail sidings, and have a planned yearly capacity to handle more than 125,000 TEUs. This segment, which is currently being electrified, is already a double stack route.
