GAIL (India) has installed a dedicated pipeline to provide natural gas to HPCL Mittal Energy’s (HMEL) refinery in Bathinda, Punjab, in a crucial move to secure natural gas availability for big clients.
The dedicated pipeline, which would provide HMEL with 1 MMSCMD of gas, cost Rs 142 crore to build. The 44.26-kilometer 12-inch-diameter pipeline (total capacity: 5 MMSCMD) is a branch of the 500-kilometer Dadri-Bawana-Nangal Pipeline (DBNPL).
GAIL receiving terminal at NFL, Bathinda provides natural gas supply tap off.
The DBNPL is a section of the National Gas Grid that extends from Dadri (Uttar Pradesh) to Nangal (Punjab) to supply the energy demands of these northern states.
The pipeline will boost the supply of natural gas in the region, resulting in increased supply for domestic households, vehicles, commercial and industrial establishments.
