Union Minister for Surface Transports and Highways Nitin Gadkari visited Belagavi and laid the foundation stone for five national highway projects in the Belagavi-Goa region.
The initiatives include widening the Sankhali-Jamboti Road via Chorla from 5.5 metres to 7 metres, allowing for smoother and faster traffic flow.
Gadkari laid the foundation stone for 238 km of highway projects worth Rs 3,972 crore in the Belagavi-Goa region, including the 40.07 km Belagavi-Sankeshwar 6-laning bypass, which will cost Rs 1,479.3 crore, and the 69.17 km Sankeshwar-Maharashtra border six-laning, which will cost Rs 1,388.7 crore.
