Fourth extension made for manufacturing heavy-duty gas turbines in India

The fourth extension of the Technical Assistance and Licence Agreement, which covers the engineering and production of heavy-duty gas turbines in India, was announced on Tuesday by GE Vernova’s Gas Power business and the government-run Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL).

The relationship between the two industrial power businesses, which began in July 1986, is being extended with the signing of the agreement, according to GE Vernova.

According to the company, this arrangement would assist GE Vernova’s Gas Power business expand BHEL’s capacity to provide best-in-class gas turbine technology and support clients’ needs for power plants.

So far, BHEL has supplied about 230 GE gas turbines to various oil refineries, process industries, and utilities in India and overseas. The above cooperation is also contributing towards reshaping India’s energy roadmap by promoting indigenous manufacturing capabilities, creating new job opportunities, and expanding the supply chain network.
