The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) is currently focused on the Metro construction work at Chunniganj and beyond, two months after the Kanpur Metro began commercial operations.
Kanpur Metro currently runs on a nine-kilometer elevated line. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Kanpur Metro’s commercial operation on December 28 of last year.
The Metro runs on Line No. 1, a 23-kilometer elevated corridor that goes from downtown to Naubasta in the south. Because Metro now only functions on a nine-kilometer stretch, building is still ongoing. It everything comes to a head at Motijheel.
