After the Airports Authority of India (AAI) opened technical proposals, four construction firms submitted bids for the new integrated terminal building at Imphal International Airport in Manipur.
The project entails the construction of a new terminal building with a floor area of 28,125 square metres that can handle 1200 peak-hour passengers (200 international and 1000 domestic), an apron with 8 parking bays for A321 type narrow-body aircraft, two 144m x 23m link runways, and an air traffic control tower.
In February 2022, AAI issued a tender for building work with a budget of Rs. 331.80 crore and a completion timeframe of 730 days (2 years).
