This week, 5 consulting companies submitted bids to conduct a feasibility study for a PRT system in Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City), close to Ahmedabad & Gandhinagar.
The proposed project will provide nonstop point-to-point transportation for 4-8 passengers in small driverless pod-cars or pod-taxis within the commercial district, which is intended to be built according to sustainable, intelligent and green development principles.
Oddly, National Highways Logistics Management Ltd. (NHLML), a special purpose vehicle of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), is carrying it out. In January 2023, bids for this consulting contract were requested, and a 180-day deadline was also specified. On June 6, technical bids went live.
The five companies are Ardanuy Ingineria, Bernard Consultants, DB Engineering and Consulting, K and J Projects, and RINA Consulting.
