Finnish firm Salcomp plans to expand its workforce in India

Electronics manufacturing services (EMS) firms based in Tamil Nadu are speeding up growth ambitions as electronic heavyweights aim to diversify their output beyond China.

By 2025, Finland-based Salcomp, an Apple supplier, hopes to increase its current revenue of about $0.5 billion to $2–3 billion. The corporation also intends to expand its Tamil Nadu and Noida workforces in India.

Approximately 12,000 people are currently employed by the Salcomp factory in Sriperumbudur.

“Overall, we intend to employ at least 25,000 people by 2025,” (in India). On the sidelines of the Source India Electronics Supply Chain Summit in Chennai, Salcomp India managing director SasikumarGendham told TOI that more than 80% of those employed there will be women.
