The Dredging Corporation of India (DCI) and the Cochin Shipyard Limited inked a historic shipbuilding deal for the first’make in India’ project for the construction of a high-capacity dredger (CSL).
According to an official announcement, the arrangement is for the construction of the first Beagle series 12 trailing suction hopper dredger.
Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal, speaking on the occasion, said his ministry recognises the importance of dredging for port operations and has published dredging guidelines for key ports.
