DP World has launched a 1122 MW solar power facility at its International Container Transshipment Terminal (ICTT) in Vallarpadam.
The factory is spread across 3.4 acres and has a total investment of over 3.7 crore. It has a maximum output capacity of 830 kilowatt-hours. The solar facility will help decrease CO2 emissions by 905 tonnes per year, which is comparable to the CO2 absorbed by about 41,580 trees in a year. The plant will supply more than 12% of the terminal’s total yearly power usage.
