Bengaluru Airport City Limited (BACL) has named DP Architects Singapore and Portland Design UK as architectural consultants for the airport’s planned integrated Retail-Dining-Entertainment (RDE) Village.
The Village, which will be constructed by BACL on the concept of establishing a retail and leisure destination as part of the Airport City project, would be developed on a 23-acre property with a built-up area of 1.1 million square feet, according to Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL) on Wednesday.
BACL CEO Rao Munukutla said, “We are delighted to partner with DP Architects Singapore & Portland Design UK who are world leaders in retail, dining and entertainment spaces. The RDE Village is built on the vision of creating a new destination with a deep connection to the community, culture and environment, focussing on human-centric design.”
