DIAL completes refurbishing work on IGI Airport runway

Delhi International Airport Limited has completed refurbishment work on the 09/27 runway at Indira Gandhi International Airport and handed it over to ATC for commercial operations late last month, cutting runway operations time.

According to a press release, the freshly repaired runway, which was built during the British era, complies with Category-I (CAT-I) Instrument Landing System (ILS), which aids pilots when landing an aircraft in low visibility situations, according to the statement.

As part of the Delhi Airport’s phase 3A development project, DIAL rehabilitated runway 09/27 (first runway).
