The final 20 km of the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, which passes through the environmentally sensitive area of Raja Ji National Park, saw the beginning of work, which included the 340 m Daat Kali tunnel.
“On the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway project, a breakthrough was made. The final 20 km pass through an ecologically sensitive area of Raja Ji National Park where Asia’s longest elevated wildlife corridor (12 km), which includes the 340 m Daat Kali tunnel, is being built “Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road, Transport, and Highways, provided an update on the expressway’s construction.
“The tunnel intends to protect the surrounding wildlife. Once completed, the expressway would reduce travel time between Dehradun-Delhi from 6 hrs to 2.30 hrs& Delhi-Haridwar from 5 hrs to 2 hrs,” said the minister on Twitter.
