Dalmia Bharat Sugar board approves setting up of Rs 400 crore grain based distillery

The Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries’ Board approved the construction of a 250 klpd grain-based distillery at the Nigohi unit and the extension of the capacity at the Ramgarh sugar unit in Uttar Pradesh.

The grain-based distillery, which would cost Rs 400 crore in capital, is scheduled to open in September 2024. The project will be financed in part through internal accruals and in part through debt.

After commissioning, the company’s entire distillery capacity would be 1100 klpd, with 500 klpd coming from grain and 600 klpd from cane.

Similar to this, the Ramgarh sugar facility would increase its production capacity from 6600 tcd to 7000 tcd at a cost of Rs 14 crore, with money coming from internal accruals.

The project is expected to be commissioned by November, 2023.
