Congestion likely to reduce at Chennai airport

The airport’s congestion is projected to decrease with the opening of a portion of Chennai Airport’s new integrated terminal by mid-January and the construction of two quick exit taxiways in the coming months.

The work on the terminal, according to Airports Authority of India (AAI) officials, is almost finished. A top official declared that “around 95% of the work is finished and the international operations would move to this building following the inauguration.”

The officials have communicated to the Union Government about the current status and have asked for a possible date to inaugurate the new facility next month.
