Coimbatore is all set to see a major changeover as several infrastructure developments are on the cards for the city.
According to a tweet thread by Coimbatore updates, the city is all set to get 17 new projects.
Coimbatore metro, Coimbatore-Karurgreenfield highway, Pollachi-Dindigul highway, Coimbatore Airport expansion, Coimbatore-Sathyamangalam 4 lane highway, Athiakdavu-Avinashi scheme are some of the major projects.
DPR preparation of Phase I of the Coimbatore Metro is over and the revised DPR is expected to be released soon. The project cost is 9,500 crore and is expected to be completed by 2027.
Similarly, the DPR for a new alignment of the Coimbatore-Karurgreenfiled highway is being prepared. The estimated cost of the project is 6,350 crore. DPR for the Coimbatore-Sathyamangalam 4 lane highway project is also being prepared.
Meanwhile, Bridge and road laying works going on near Udumalai, Madathukulam and Oddanchatram areas are going on as part of the Pollachi-Dindigul highway project.
“Construction for the Coimbator Airport expansion is expected to commence in January 2023. Almost 80 per cet of the land acquisition work is completed,” the tweet stated.
The construction work for the Avinashi Road Elevated Highway is going on and the announcement about its extension till Neelambur is expected soon.
Almost 98 per cent of the Athikadavu-Avinashi Scheme project is over. The project is expected to be completed by December 2022.
