The Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA), which is creating the third master plan for Chennai, anticipates notifying the public by December 2025 or April 2026. The CMDA started the visioning process as a part of it.
Housing Minister S Muthuswamy started the inaugural visioning workshop. It intends to establish the direction for the third master plan, which will envision inclusive, comprehensive, and environmentally responsible growth for the Chennai Metropolitan Area (CMA).
According to what is known, the plan for Chennai’s urban restructuring would be finalised following the completion of three visioning workshops.
