As the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) has floated tenders for providing consultancy services to prepare a detailed development plan for the corridor, the effort to develop Chennai Outer Ring Road with sports fields, convention centres, urban squares, waterfront developments, and parks appears to have gained momentum. Although the development on government land is welcomed by the inhabitants along the corridor, they want the CMDA to guarantee that water bodies and vegetation are maintained and that internal connection is enhanced. Along with sports fields, conference centres, urban squares, pedestrian walkways, waterfront developments, accessible parks, theme-based parks, and horticultural parks, the CMDA plans to improve junctions along the corridor. |
