Cloud conglomerate Cisco, which has stated its ambition to start manufacturing in India, is likely to select Flex India as its manufacturing partner in the nation.
Flex India is a division of Flex Ltd, a global manufacturer of electronics with headquarters in the US.
The production unit of Flex India, which is situated in Chennai’s Oragadam special economic zone (SEZ), will start the manufacturing process. According to the article, it is the only unit with sufficient capacity to handle the volume of items Cisco is aiming for.
According to a government official, the company intends to start producing blade servers, towers, and racks by the end of the current calendar year.
In a press release, Cisco said that it was “partnering with a contract manufacturer in southern India”.
