Bhupesh Baghel, the chief minister of Chhattisgarh, announced that the state will build a huge thermal power plant with a 1,320 MW capacity.
According to officials, he announced it at a review meeting.
According to them, the coal-fired plant, which will be built in the Korba district, will be the biggest of its kind operated by the state-run power production firm in Chhattisgarh and will be constructed utilising cutting-edge technology.
During a review meeting with representatives of the state power companies at his official residence in this city, the chief minister provided instructions to establish the unit in order to meet the demand for power in the future, a government public relations officer said.
