Chattisgarh to get its first ethanol plant

In the Kabirdham district, next to the Bhoramdev Cooperative Sugar Factory, the Chattisgarh’s first ethanol factory will be built. 35 acres of open land next to the factory have been selected by the district administration as potential locations for the plant.

After Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel declared the agriculture-based ethanol plant one of his government’s top projects, the project’s implementation was hastened. The facility’s daily capacity will be 80 kilo litres (KLPD).

In order to boost the state’s economy, the Chhattisgarh administration has chosen to enlist the financial and technical assistance of private enterprises. The first ethanol plant in the state will be built using the public-private partnership (PPP) method.
