The Centre is considering the construction of two brownfield airports in Warangal and Adilabad, as well as one greenfield airport in Jakranpally, Nizamabad district, Telangana.
In this regard, the Centre had requested that the state government submit financial closure in order for the Civil Aviation Ministry and other regulatory authorities to consider giving necessary approvals for the development of these airports.
Civil Aviation Minister VK Singh while responding to a question raised by BRS MPs MalothKavitha, B VenkateshNetha, and G Ranjith Reddy in the LokSabha, said that the state government proposed three greenfield airports at Jakranpally (Nizamabad district), Palvancha (BhadradriKothagudem) and Devarakadra (Mahabubnagar) along with three brownfield airports at Mamnoor (Warangal district), Basanth Nagar (Peddapally district) and Adilabad.
