The Central government has given its nod for the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) to be implemented in the Union Territory of Ladakh at a sanctioned cost of Rs 687.05 crore.
According to them, the RDSS received approval from the ministry of power for installation in Ladakh.
In this regard, Tsewang Paljor, the chief engineer for distribution at the Ladakh Power Development Department (LPDD), and A. K. Gahlot, the executive director of WAPCOS Limited, signed a contract in the presence of Ravinder Kumar, the administrative secretary for power in Ladakh.
According to them, the plan includes further loss reduction projects in the Leh and Kargil districts of Ladakh, as well as the downline infrastructure in the Zanskar region and the grid connectivity of the Changthang region.
