Central government sanctions Rs 500 crore Electronics Manufacturing Cluster in Pune

The Central government has sanctioned a Rs 500 crore Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) in Pune.

Ranjangaon Phase III will include the construction of the EMC, which would be situated over 297 acres.

According to an official, the proposal, which was authorised by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, is predicted to draw investments worth up to Rs 2,000 crore.

Nearly Rs 208 crore in central government funding would go toward the project.

“We expect the proposed cluster to give direct employment to up to 5,000 people. Proposals from Uttarakhand and Telangana are under consideration right now,” the official added.
