The flagship listed infrastructure company of global alternative asset
manager Brookfield Asset Management, Brookfield Infrastructure, and
BAM Digital Realty are moving forward with their ambition to create,
own, and operate data centres in India.
BAM Digital Realty has purchased a 10-acre land piece in Chennai’s
Ambattur neighbourhood in Tamil Nadu for over Rs 230 crore, making it
one of the company’s first direct land acquisitions for the creation
of a big data centre in the country.
For this India-specific venture, Digital Realty and Brookfield
Infrastructure Partners formed a 50:50 collaboration in July 2021. The
joint venture will be known as BAM Digital Realty.
Through this cooperative platform, both corporations intend to invest
more than USD two billion in India.
