Miraj, Maharashtra – Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), a leading public sector oil and gas company in India, has unveiled its ambitious expansion plans for the Miraj Pol Depot in Sangli, Maharashtra. The project aims to ramp up the manufacturing capacity of motor spirit, commonly known as petrol or gasoline, to cater to the escalating demand in the region.
Situated near the Railway Goods Shed in Miraj, Sangli, the proposed expansion project holds a strategic location that facilitates efficient transportation and distribution of the manufactured motor spirit to various parts of the region. This prime positioning ensures convenient access to markets and enables seamless supply chain management.
The primary objective of the project is to bolster the manufacturing capacity of motor spirit by an additional 5200 kiloliters (KLtr). This expansion is vital to meet the burgeoning consumption needs of the local market and guarantee a steady and uninterrupted supply of petrol.
The estimated cost of the project stands at Rs. 117.812 million, covering multiple facets of the expansion process. This encompasses the development of essential infrastructure, installation of additional manufacturing equipment, upgrading of existing facilities, and the incorporation of advanced technologies to enhance operational efficiency and product quality.
In a demonstration of their unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited has secured consent from the state pollution control authorities to proceed with the expansion project.
