Bluesign, AIC-NIFTTEA sign MoU for sustainable textiles

AIC-NIFTTEA Incubation Centre for Textiles and Apparels, backed by Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, and Bluesign Technologies AG, Switzerland, have formalised their collaboration on promoting sustainable textiles.

For more than 20 years, Bluesign has provided system partners with an array of services that rank among the finest in their field.

The development and promotion of low-pollution, resource-efficient products and processes, as well as ensuring sustainable consumption and production patterns in the textile industry, are all ways that AIC-NIFTTEA supports start-ups and MSMEs in the textile and apparel industry that are committed to sustainable production. According to a news release from Bluesign, the activity entails a survey, awareness-raising, research, training, and outreach.

AIC-NIFTTEA supports a range of partners including technical and technological service providers, producers’ organisations and trade associations to facilitate technological solutions and create positive impact on energy and water conservation, environment, and social thereby improving economic growth and employment opportunities.
