Bilagi Sugar Mill is planning to take up a sugar plant expansion project in Badangandi, Bilagi, Bagalkot and Karnataka villages.
Sources said that the project involves expanding sugar plant from 2500 TCD and co-gen power plant from 8 MW to 30 MW with an investment of Rs 2505 Million.
“On July 2019, Karnataka’s State Level Single Window Clearance Committee has approved the investment proposal. On November 2020, project involves expansion of existing distillery/ethanol plant from 60 KLPD to 150 KLPD with investment of Rs 1341.5 Million,” the sources added.
Sources further said, “The environment clearance for the project is underway. As of January 2023, the project involves expansion capacity of sugar plant from 10000 TCD to 15000 TCD and ethanol from 60 KLD to 200 KLD with investment Rs 1522.6 million. The environmental clearance for the project is underway.”
