Bihar to get Bharatmala road projects worth Rs 44,950 crore

Using six-lane highways, the Bharatmala project will link the administrative centres of more than 550 Indian districts. An important goal of the project is to increase freight efficiency on highways in addition to developing the roads and highways. “Besides, the National Highways Authority of India’s ambitious six-lane Greenfield Varanasi-Ranchi-Kolkata expressway will pass through Kaimur, Rohtash, Aurangabad and Gaya districts of Bihar. Of the 610-km-long Varanasi-Kolkata corridor, 162 km will be in Bihar,” Prasad said.
