SCG International India Private Limited (or “SCG INTL INDIA”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Siam Cement Public Company Limited (or “SCG”) in the Cement-Building Materials Business, has entered into a joint-venture agreement with BigBloc Construction Limited (or “BCL”) to engage in the production and sale of lightweight concrete panels and blocks with a total capacity of approximately 2.6 million square metres (approximately 250,000 cubic metres) in Gujarat, India.
BCL will hold a 52 percent equity position in the Joint Venture, while SCG INTL INDIA will hold the remaining 48 percent. This project is worth INR 891 million in total. Construction of the plant is planned to be finished in a year, followed by commercial runs.
