With the delivery of its 42nd Nuclear Steam Generator to the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has reached a key milestone (NPCIL). In the presence of top BHEL and NPCIL officials, the steam generator for a 700 MWe unit at NPCIL’s Rajasthan Atomic Power Project (RAPP) was flagged off from BHEL’s Trichy facility.
Since 1976, BHEL has designed, manufactured, tested, and supplied vital nuclear components such as Reactor Headers, Steam Generators, Steam Turbine Generators, various Heat Exchangers, and Pressure Vessels to the country’s nuclear programme.
The first stage of the country’s indigenous nuclear power development is complete, with 18 PHVWRs in operation.
