BHEL and NPCIL ink deal for collaboration for Pressurised Heavy Water Reactor Technology-based Nuclear Power Plants

In order to cooperatively pursue economic prospects in the domain of nuclear power plants based on Pressurized Heavy Water Reactor (PHWR) technology, Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) and Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

In accordance with the MoU, BHEL and NPCIL will work together to investigate possibilities for the development of nuclear power projects in an effort to shorten project gestation times.

In the presence of Dr. V. K. Saraswat (Member – NITI Aayog), K N Vyas (Secretary – Department of Atomic Energy & Chairman – Atomic Energy Commission) and Kamran Rizvi (Secretary – Ministry of Heavy Industries), the MoU was signed by Dr.NalinShinghal, CMD – BHEL and Bhuwan Chandra Pathak, CMD – NPCIL at NITI Aayog, New Delhi.

Senior officials of the Department of Atomic Energy, Ministry of Heavy Industries, BHEL and NPCIL were also present during the occasion.
