A joint venture to produce high-speed passenger trains has been established by BF Infrastructure, a fully owned subsidiary of Pune-based Bharat Forge, and Talgo India, a fully owned subsidiary of Spain’s Patentes Talgo S.L.
A hub for production, upkeep, and lifecycle support will also be established as part of the partnership for the new generation of lightweight, energy-efficient high-speed rail vehicles.
According to a joint statement from the firms, the cooperation also looks to potential big commercial prospects in the Indian Railways and anticipated domestic requirements.
“The collaboration will help bring state-of-the-art and high-speed rail technology and solutions to the Indian Railways and other private operators that will serve under the overarching self-reliant vision,” the statement added.
