From October, motorists will be able to travel from Bengaluru to Mysuru in under 90 minutes, thanks to the six-month completion of the under-construction highway connecting the two cities.
The government plans to open a segment between Bengaluru and Maddur to traffic in June, with the 118-kilometer project taking another four months to finish.
The Bengaluru-Maddur portion would be available to traffic in June, according to Mysuru MP Pratap Simha. He told reporters that the Centre is intending to build a helipad off the freeway, and that four locations have been chosen for a recreational facility for motorists.
The cost of the 10-lane road upgrade project has risen to Rs 9,551 crore, including Rs 1,201.43 crore in extra charges.
