Ather Energy, a Hero MotoCorp-backed electric two-wheeler manufacturer, announced that it wants to build a second manufacturing facility in 2022, increasing its capacity to 4 lakh vehicles per year from the current 1.20 lakh.
The new facility will be built in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, to meet the increased demand for the company’s e-two-wheelers, the 450 X and 450 Plus, according to a press statement.
Ather Energy, located in Bengaluru, opened its first production facility in Hosur earlier this year. The new production plant will focus on lithium-ion batteries, which is a significant priority area for Ather Energy, in addition to EV manufacture.
