AP government plans to set up granite mining zone in Prakasam district

The Andhra Pradesh government has planned to close the current state highway at Chimakurthy in Prakasam district for a distance of roughly 4 km in order to focus on unknown mining areas. The government will be able to create an exclusive mining zone as a result of this.

The state government intends to lease the area to commercial developers, which is anticipated to contain enormous quantities of black galaxy granite.

The area along the state highway on the outskirts of Chimakurthy is the only stretch of land in the region that has yet to be investigated. Thousands of acres of land have already been excavated near Chimakurthy in the villages of Rajupalem, Lakshmipuram, and Budavada.
