The Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the famous national highway between Bengaluru and Vijayawada has been completed by Andhra Pradesh government.
The projected roadway has been meant to bring the chief minister’s hometown of Pulivendula closer to him.
Following a proposal from chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Union minister Nitin Gadkari has already given his in-principle approval to start work on the roadway.
This NH was envisaged after the previous TDP administration abandoned the Ananthapuram-Amaravati NH project.
The proposed new national highway is likely to cost Rs 17,000 crore, while the Ananthapuram-Amaravati NH is expected to cost Rs 30,000 crore.
