Doosan Heavy Industries and Construction Co. Ltd. has placed an order with international technology firm ANDRITZ to supply hydro- and electromechanical equipment for the 216-MW Upper Trishuli 1 hydropower project in Nepal, which is owned by Nepal Water & Energy Development Company Pvt. Ltd.
Upper Trishuli 1 is planned to generate up to 1,456 GWh of energy per year when it is completed in 2026, boosting the country’s overall power output by nearly 20%.
The ANDRITZ scope of supply for hydromechanical equipment includes radial gates, vertical gates, hoists, stoplogs, and penstocks, as well as design, engineering, manufacturing, shipping, installation, testing, and commissioning.
