Arcelor Mittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India), a joint venture between Arcelor Mittal and Nippon Steel, is currently investing Rs 273 crore for zero liquid discharge and other environmental efforts at its Hazira steel complex.
The whole Hazira facility will be covered by the Zero Liquid Discharge system, which will assist AM/NS India in eliminating liquid waste by enabling the reuse of all treated effluent using RO units. It will cost 77 crore rupees to build it up.
The Zero Liquid Discharge network spans 14 kilometres in total. The system is anticipated to be finished by March 2023, and contracts for civil works and other projects have already been issued.
