The Airports Authority of India has started work on a new greenfield airport in Rajkot, which would cost Rs 1,405 crore and cover 2,534 acres.
By March 2023, the new airport is projected to be operational.
Rajkot, Gujarat’s fourth-largest city, may soon get a new greenfield airport as the project’s overall development hits 45 percent, with runway work nearing completion at 80 percent.
The Airports Authority of India (AAI) is building a new greenfield airport in Rajkot, which would cost Rs 1,405 crore and cover 2,534 acres.
On the Rajkot-Ahmedabad highway, the under-construction airport is around 30 kilometres from Rajkot city.
