NTPC has awarded Amara Raja Power Systems, a subsidiary of the USD 1.3 billion Amara Raja group, a contract to build India’s first green hydrogen fueling station in Leh.
According to Amara Raja Power Systems, the prototype project is being put up in Leh’s severe circumstances at a height of 3,600 metres above sea level.
This aligns with the government’s goal of attaining carbon neutrality by 2070.
This would be a forerunner to large-scale green hydrogen mobility and storage projects, and would be valuable for evaluating and establishing many fueling stations around the country, according to the National Hydrogen Energy Mission.
